Robert Parker review
On 29 December 2017, the prestigious magazine The Wine Advocate – Robert Parker published their review on Mediterranean wines by Mr Luis Gutierrez, mentioned specialy our wines as you can read in below extract:
“There is a very interesting evolution at Los Frailes, in Fontanars dels Alforins in Valencia, which I believe was sparked by a bottle of a 1979 Monastrell fermented in cement vats with natural yeasts and bottled unoaked. Back in 2015 when I visited them, we tasted that wine, which was a revelation, it impressed me—it showed character, rusticity, elegance and honesty, and it was simply delicious. And I wrote about it. Well, it must have impressed them too, because they conducted soil studies with the help of French expert Yves Herody, and they have gone back to their past, fermenting again in the old concrete vats and their terracotta amphorae. They started this in 2015, and in 2016 they already bottled three single vineyard reds named after the soils or places where the vineyards are planted. Bravo! “
